Summer Camps

 Create and Investigate with us this Summer!

For each week of summer, you will find exciting and educational camp opportunities for your preschooler and big kid! Spend some time in our new garden space to learn how vegetables grow and how bees pollinate. Put on your lab goggles and get ready for some explosive fun. Build and create art, bridges, and music in and out of the classroom. You won’t want to miss this jam-packed summer!

Pre-K Camps are for children aged 3 to 5 years old.  Students must be potty-trained, please!  Camp is every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am (drop off available at 8:45 am). Each week will have a special theme and each day includes story time, hands-on activities, snack, and playtime. Close-toed shoes are required.

Price: $13 per day for non-members and $10 per day for members

Camp 55 is for students entering 1st grade through 3rd grade.  Each Camp 55 topic is a week long (Tuesday – Friday), and is 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, with drop-off available at 8:30 am.  Students will need to bring a lunch (refrigerator space is available!). Close-toed shoes are required. Each day will include 2 to 3 activities and playtime in the Museum.

Price: $100 for non-members and $90 for members

June 12-16Art-ology: Join us for a week of art, science, and nature. Learn about different mediums, techniques, and types of processes that artists use to express themselves. Create masterpieces using science, nature, and other messy methods!
June 19-23Superhero Science: It’s a wild and wonderful world out there! Let’s explore the real SUPER animals that live among us. If you could be a superhero, what amazing animal powers would you have? Would you choose to be invisible and blend into your surroundings like a chameleon? Or maybe you’d like to be able to lift 10 times your body weight like an ant. We will learn about these wonderful creatures and create costumes and gadgets to go with them!
June 26-30Potions 101: Start the week off by making a sorting hat and making your magic wand. Learn about concoctions, potions, and spells that will “bewitch your mind and ensnare your senses”. We’ll research “magical” beasts as well as create one to keep as your own. We will stay active by playing matches of Quidditch and other witching games.
July 10-14Padawan Training: Dive deep in the world of space exploration and train to be a Jedi Knight. Each day will focus on a different area of space travel and living! What will it take to live on Mars? Is light speed really a possibility? During this week we will learn about the reality and fantasy of space living
July 17-21Building for Good: Design, create, and build for good with us this week! Campers will learn the basics of building and constructing with various materials, learn about circuits, and understand what it means to work within a budget. Afterwards, they will gather in groups to solve a problem in their home, school, or community. Campers will build a birdhouse, design a safe car for a delicate egg, and create a bridge with limited funds. Is your child up to the challenge?
July 24-28Peace, Love, and Music: Let's get together and make music! Each day children will learn the basics of making music from The Awesome Squad- Michael Scherer and Zach Garrett! We'll explore beats, rhythm, lyrics, and melody. Learn some of their songs and perform with them at KidStock! Groovy! *Additional resource cost: $TBD
