Dear Friends of the Museum,

26 years ago, our Museum made its start in the Macon County Conservation District’s Education Center. 20 years ago, our Museum opened its doors at 55 South Country Club Road. Over this time, we have been awarded many honors, such as Child Magazine’s top 25 children’s museums, Illinois Association of Museums’ small institution of the year, and Herald & Review’s best place for a birthday party. This summer, we were awarded the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce’s Non-Profit of the Year.

On behalf of our Board of Directors and staff, thank you for your support of Children’s Museum of Illinois. We are proud to work for our community’s Non-Profit of the Year. As we enter our 27th year, our focus is a strategic institutional plan that will address the needs of children in Decatur & Macon County and set us apart from other children’s museums. It will help us maintain our ability to attract and retain the resources necessary to deliver sustained programmatic excellence and growth over another 25 years.

As you make your gift to our Annual Giving fund, you can be confident that your contribution is not only providing an environment for children to learn, but also supporting a stable institution that has been able to sustain rapid growth and expansion. We can’t wait to share with you all that we have in store for 2017 – we hope you visit us soon!
