Dear Friends of the Museum,

Dear Friends of the Museum,

When Children’s Museum of Illinois began serving the Decatur area 27 years ago the mission was to enhance educational programs in the arts and sciences. We are proud to continue honoring that mission. We have had a fantastic year and one that friends of the Museum and our community can be proud of.

A brand new 7,000 square foot addition is being built thanks to a generous gift from the Howard G. Buffett Foundation. The addition is called Heroes Hall and focuses on the heroic work of law enforcement officers. This addition will stay true to our mission of education with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) based principles. Heroes Hall will open in the spring/summer of 2018.

We have also partnered with local businesses, service organizations, schools, and foundations to provide new exhibits, enhanced educational programming, and increased outreach efforts. These partnerships allow us to secure our position as an outstanding educational facility for ours and surrounding communities.  Additionally, we continue to contribute to the quality of life for Macon County and its residents.

As we enter our 28th year I ask that you continue to partner with Children’s Museum of Illinois. Your gift helps us maintain our Museum as one of Central Illinois’ finest children’s attractions and educational facilities. On behalf of Children’s Museum of Illinois’ staff and Board of Directors, I thank you.

Sincerely,

Amber D. Kaylor, Executive Director
